We decided to view the local fireworks from a small mountain in Culver City popularly known as the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook.  It was great because with a 360 view, we were able to view multiple fireworks displays from beyond Downtown Los Angeles to Redondo Beach.

Although I brought a tripod, really could have used a remote trigger.  Also wish I experimented with slower shutter speeds to get the streaking firework effect.  Here are a couple pics of fireworks deployed from Culver City High School.  Shot with Canon 60D and 50mm f1.4 and edited in Camera Raw 6.
